AdMob this week released data indicating that only 19 percent of the 50,000 iPhone applications had more than 10,000 users in May, and a mere 5 percent had more than 100,000 users. Seems consumers are having a hard time finding new apps and developers are increasingly struggling to draw attention to compelling offerings. As MobHappy noted earlier this week, app stores address distribution problems but have yet to solve the discoverability puzzle. So for now, at least, marketing your app is nearly as important as building a good product in the first place.
