BIA/Kelsey published its U.S. Local Media Annual Forecast today, and the company is pretty bullish on online/interactive/mobile advertising. That represents a key opportunity for mobile for several reasons: phones allow advertisers to target their come-ons in unprecedented ways, combining demographic information with location and usage patterns. But mobile also is an idea platform for local advertising because users often are looking for something while they’re out and about. I expect mobile advertising to come into its own over the next couple of years, and I think local advertising will lead the way.
