Finding the Value in Social Media Data

Social media now produces massive amounts of data that companies want to harness because it will help them make decisions on product development and marketing, and aid in customer service ventures. The ecosystem for analyzing and monetizing social media big data is still maturing, but two companies in particular are early indicators of how the social big data market is evolving: Gnip, which licenses Twitter’s Firehose to third parties, and Sulia, which analyzes and packages data.
