Does Apple really equal Sony?

Forrester CEO George Colony has stirred up a bit of a hornet’s nest this morning with this post forecasting dark days ahead for Apple. Colony predicts that Apple “will decline in the post Steve Jobs era” starting in the next few years due to the lack of a charismatic executive at the helm. But Wired’s Leander Kahney offers a solid take-down of Colony’s argument, noting that A) Tim Cook has the tools to succeed and B) Apple’s design chief Sir Jonathan Ive is still a powerful force at the company. My take: Steve Jobs was a brilliant, charismatic leader, of course, but he also assembled a very capable front office. Apple is in good hands for the foreseeable future.
