RIM losing grip on corporate Canada

Bloomberg has an interesting piece this morning documenting how Research In Motion is now losing to Apple on its home ice of Canada. Apple shipped about 2.85 million smartphones in Canada last year, according to IDC, while RIM moved only 2.08 million BlackBerry units. This isn’t surprising, of course, and RIM will continue to lose ground to Apple (and Android, and probably Windows Phone) until it can produce phones running a powerful new OS. That isn’t expected to happen until late this year, though, so RIM will continue to watch the competition pull away for at least the next several months.
