The weekend review: accountability in 2012 and the post-Solyndra solar industry

After a week marked by Path’s privacy blowup and Tesla’s Model X launch, our New Year’s feature, “12 tech leaders’ resolutions for 2012,” which includes interviews with Path’s David Morin and Tesla’s Elon Musk, received renewed attention. While the year has only just started, it is clear that GigaOM Pro readers are paying attention to the promises and forecasts that startup founders and corporate executives made for 2012. We will be revisiting these resolutions throughout the year.
Accountability has also been a big issue in solar, another industry that has come under fire over the past year. Ucilia Wang’s “After Solyndra: finding opportunity in the shifting solar industry” takes a hard look at the global photovoltaic market and what major challenges lie ahead for U.S. manufacturers and developers.
