Sprint followed the Justice Department’s lead this morning and filed a lawsuit to block AT&T’s acquisition of T-Mobile USA, claiming the deal violates the Clayton Antitrust Act. The suit will be heard in the same court that is handling the DoJ’s suit, and could bring a different perspective than the government’s case. Sprint’s move wasn’t surprising, but it’s one more hurdle AT&T will have to overcome if it is to acquire T-Mobile and become the nation’s largest carrier.
