It looks like Google is quietly launching Google Wallet today, as this pic from a coffeeshop near GigaOM offices in San Francisco indicates. But PCMag.com notes that American Eagle Outfitters in New York has been testing the service for a month or so. The hype continues to grow around the mobile wallet, but it will take a long time before there are enough NFC-enabled handsets and terminals to make the concept truly commonplace. So keep your expectations in check.
