About Shannon:
I am a sociologist of technology, with a specialization in technologies that improve the social and ecological good. I conduct framing and communications research for organizations active in technology movements. I am the author of the study, “Changing the Game in the U.S. Auto Industry: The Role of Technology Movement Organizations” and have worked as a green car expert for several automotive and clean tech sites. I am also a Senior Researcher with the Frameworks Institute. In this capacity, I shape powerful messages for social causes that lead to improvements for important sectors of society. I have a Ph.D. from Columbia University (2010, Sociology), an M.A. from the American University in Cairo (2004, Anthopology), and a B.A. from U.C. Berkeley (1999, History).
