About Thomas:
Thomas has been working with (managing, designing, and developing) social platforms since 1996 and has the wounds to prove it, but also has a lot of lessons learned as social platforms floated through proprietary services, to KM and groupware, to web facing environments, into Web 2.0, and now back into organizations for internal interactions as well as listening and engaging with customers.
Thomas is also known for his coining of the term folksonomy (use generated tagging, which creates an alternative/extension to taxonomies that account for individual use of terms to improve understanding and context). His focus has always been on use first through user’s needs and eyes and build back from there. His looking for what comes next has helped vendors and service site developers to drastically improve services for improved use.
